What security measures are in place in Los Angeles during BE Conference 2007?
As in any major city, individuals must be cautious about their personal safety, and as always, security will be present during BE Conference. Shuttle buses will be readily available from the Convention Center to the official hotels. Additionally, Los Angeles has taxis, a Metro system and a local shuttle service called DASH. DASH operates Monday-Friday, 6:30 am to 7:00 pm. DASH runs every 5-8 mins, and charges a nominal fee of $.25.
Building Security at the Los Angeles Convention Center operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and is responsible for the overall protection of the convention center's property, its employees, as well as providing service and assistance to all convention center patrons. Bentley has hired additional security for the convention center for the evenings. The Purple Patrol, a highly visible team of 45 purple-shirted workers, supplements city services 24 hours daily.

What is the dress code for the conference?
Business casual except for the BE Awards of Excellence ceremony which is black tie or business formal/cocktail attire is required. Jeans, t-shirts, non-collared shirts, shorts and sneakers are not appropriate attire.
Who should attend the conference?
BE Conference attendees are made up of various AEC and GIS/Geospatial professionals. Conference attendees come from AE firms, architecture firms, design build firms, engineering consultants, facility owner-operators, departments of transportation (DOTs), rail companies, site engineering firms, communications and utilities firms, federal government and associated contractors, local governments, public works, plant engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractors, and plant owner-operators.
They include users of Bentley’s MicroStation, ProjectWise, AutoPLANT, STAAD, and Haestad Methods solutions as well as of ESRI and PDS.
Are my spouse and children allowed to attend?
All BE Conference registrants and attendees must be a minimum of 21 years of age to register and gain admittance to any conference session or event.
If your spouse and children meet this requirement and wish to attend, please have them register onsite for a guest pass, at no charge.

Will transportation be provided to my hotel?
Transportation will not be provided by Bentley from the airport to your hotel. However, shuttle buses will be readily available from the Convention Center to the official BE Conference 2007 hotels.
